Anyway, we woke up on Monday still dreaming of ways to impose revenge on our next door neighbor at the Blue Heron Resort, despite the fact that we had not seen her since that first very weird encounter. We took the resort's shuttle to Disney and got the driver and other passengers involved in our plots. It took a violent turn when the driver suggested that a line of fishing wire be strung about six inches from the floor across the neighbor's apartment door. We rejected that idea, mostly because of the possibility of jail time.
We were also not sure what park we would go to on our first day, or whether we would go to more than one. At the driver's suggestion, we went to the box office window and met our personal Disney representative, Ada, who told us to get the park hopper and start with Epcot. It turned out to be great advice. We went directly to our first choice ride, Soarin', right away and waited 40 minutes. That turned out to be the longest wait of the day, despite the fact that the parks were very crowded. We ended up going to Test Track, Spaceship Earth, a Finding Nemo ride,
Turns out we went to three parks instead of two, ate three meals (without a bit of vitamins or nutrients in any of them, I fear) and went home at 10:15. I don't know about the rest of the party, but my feet hurt so much that night that I was afraid I wouldn't be able to stand the next day, let alone walk around a park.
A couple of weird things happened, of course. For one, we appeared to be the only ones who went through the Spaceship Earth ride without the camera taking our picture. Either that or the pictures went directly to our permanent files at the FBI. Also, as we left the parks at 10PM, we were almost run over by a woman driver, who looked curiously like the woman from our resort. We screamed and she put her head out the window and chided us for overreacting to our imminent death. Later, a guy who witnessed the whole thing said it was crazy what she did. So we felt a little better.
We woke up on Tuesday and got to Disney Hollywood Studios, the resort formerly known as MGM Studios, at about 9:30AM. I am sorry to report that were in our car before we remembered our revenge plots, so our next door neighbor escaped injury.
After a quick breakfast we headed for my favorite ride, Star Tours, and it did not disappoint. Brad, especially, loved it. We also got on the Great Movie Ride, which definitely needs some updating, and the very funny Sounds Dangerous, a show with Drew Carey showcasing sound effects. Then it was off to the airport to drop off one of our esteemed members, Meredith, who had to go home early for a Lacross game.
We miss her a lot, but are not sorry that she did not see the pretty skeevy hotel room we are staying in in St. Augustine Beach. (Is it St. Aw' gust teen, or Aw gust' tin? Anyone know?)
In order to spend as little time as possible in the hotel room, we took a drive to downtown St. Augustine, which is a beautiful, quaint town with a lovely harbor and a very impressive school, Flagler College, occupying a number of historic Victorian buildings originally constructed by Henry Flagler one of the founders of Standard Oil.

What a great trip. I was at my mother's and didn't get a chance to check in regularly, but have now gotten caught up.
When we were in Charleston 2 weeks ago I met a couple who had just spent a week in St. Augustine. They loved it and it made me want to visit there. Sorry I don't know how to pronounce it either.
I enjoyed your account and the great photos. You all look like you are having a great time. I'm so sorry you have to return to the frigid north.
Safe traveling!

Just so happens John and I are going to St. "A" this weekend. Now I am looking forward to the trip. I have enjoyed the blog and the pictures. Have a safe trip back. What are the chances that Ada would be in Disney to help you! She must have taken a secret trip from Philadelphia!
Be safe.
Trish
